As  winter descends and ice takes over ponds, lakes and rivers, men, bundled up in heavy, thick coats and hats and dragging along an array of weird contraptions, head to the frozen bodies of water that seem to call to them like sirens and spend hours in an attempt to lure out fish hiding in the cold, dark depths…

    Those are some very hardy souls. Here in our northern areas they build little huts over their spots so they can be protected from the more severe ravages of the weather.
