Somewhere between lies and truth lies the truth
I’m sure, if you googled Damien Hirst’s name or the name of this exhibition, you would get a plethora of articles about this extravaganza. I’m sure many critics have had their say about it as well. What two cents could I possibly add to that infinite ocean of words?
Having a kind of a jukebox in my head I almost always can count on some lyrics to express what I feel. This time around I will borrow a line from a song by Skillet that goes like this “Don’t wake me ’cause I don’t wanna leave this dream”. That is exactly how I felt when I stepped back into the night having seen the second part of the exhibition at the Punta della Dogana space. I didn’t want to wake up from this incredibly intricate, surreal, highly sensual dream where everything was both real and presumed all at once. It was a celebration of imagination, creativity, craftsmanship and fantasy. It was an over the top legend, an apparition in a city that is a legendary apparition itself…

Yeah, this was truly something. Wish I could go back in time and explore it again.
