Rummaging through one’s archives is a good thing to do now and again. It helps you see what changes there have been both in your photography and in your soul. I was fascinated to see how my perception of the world and life itself has evolved since so many realities shifted in my personal universe eight years ago. Did I like the changes when they were happening? Nope. Hated every second of the majority of them with a fiery passion. Would I like to shift back to what was before? No. I am going forward down this new path and Ive stopped looking back…

Looking back can be difficult for me too. I think with every new photograph the existing ones drift further away – usually.

You are absolutely right – new photographs get created and older ones get overlooked as time goes by. That’s why sorting through the archive can reveal some hidden treasures now and then.

Definitely. It’s good to step back sometimes and see the bigger picture. I don’t do it often enough.

Me neither, although I always catch myself thinking both how interesting and helpful it is each time I venture into that vault
