On a rainy day in September some years ago I showed up in Venezia for several hours. I had just taken a dip in the pool of photographic knowledge, so I made a brash announcement, stepping through the doors of Santa Lucia station: “Now I know how to photograph you!” Venezia glanced back over her shoulder at me, slight amusement dancing in her eyes and a sly grin on her lips. “Is that right?” was all she said.
She taught me many lessons that day, but above all she gave me this shot as a prediction about what my photographic path will be like…
She does have that way about her. Little minx!
