This photo has been taken almost exactly a year ago (although it feels like yesterday), however, I dismissed it as one of those “almost good enough” photos at the time. I truly discovered it only now, a few days ago, as I was sorting through my photos of winter Venezia while listening to the song “Ti ho voluto bene veramente” by Marco Mengoni (you can check it out here) and saw it in a completely different light.
It was time before Christmas in Venezia, the festive lights were all almost ready to go – they were put up but still not lit – and there was a slight bitter sweetness of melancholy and pre-festive sadness floating in the air along with Lo Scirocco and rain…
Come on, lady, it’s a gorgeous photo! Grazie mille for sharing it with us.
Two years ago today (exactly) I arrived in Venice….only to depart 34 days later. Sigh!

Thank you so much, Michelle! It is beautiful, I cannot deny that. I guess itt simply hid in the midst of other beautifulness to reveal itself in its true beauty at the right time. And we DO need that darn time machine – portal thing like right now!!!

Yes, and I think it’s warmer in Venice than it is here right now. We’ve had some freezing fog. It was 26 degrees (that’s fahrenheit) at 7 am and I don’t think it got much over 30 yesterday. We still measure our temperature in Fahrenheit here.

We have the same kind of temperature here – around 24 to 30 Fahrenheit. I just wonder why the fog is avoiding this angle of the world? Its been in Venice, its been over at your place, everywhere but here. And I need it to create some photographic magic 😀
